HAIR SALON MBUBA
No frills hair salon saves a community money
In the village of Mbuba, deep in the Zululand Mountains there were no hair salons. The people of the community had to travel 30 km to get their hair done. A team of local students came up with the idea to create a salon in the village.
Within two days they already had attracted customers and five days into the Socionext workshop they had made a clean profit. That way they proved to themselves that they are capable of doing business in the village. And on top of that they save the community money as there is no need anymore for expensive taxi fares.
